OceanTrans organises FINAL conference

OceanTrans Final Conference discussed the transformative potential of renewable energy technologies, with a particular focus on marine energies. The event was opened by the Secretary of State for Maritime Affairs and had over one hundred participants.

A delegation from the OceanTrans project met with Professor Bernhard Truffer, on the 5th of May 2022, to discuss the results of its research on the emergence of an industry around marine renewable energy technologies in Portugal.
OCEANTRANS PARTICIPATES IN THE EUROPEAN RESEARCHERS' NIGHT

OceanTrans project participated in the elaboration of the Quiz - Cut on Carbon, in the scope of the European Researchers’ Night that took place on the 24th of September 2021. The theme of this quiz approaches the change to a life high on emotions and low on carbon.

The Royal Geographic Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) Annual International Conference took place, in London, between 31 august and 3 september 2021. In this online conference, the OceanTrans project presented a paper which reflects on the spatial dimension of the emergence and early development of the wave energy technologies.

3rd Plenary Meeting of the OceanTrans Project

At the beginning of September, the third plenary meeting of the OceanTrans project took place. The event was held remotely using a digital platform. Members of the three partner institutions of the project were present: DINAMIA'CET from ISCTE-IUL, LNEG and CEGOT from the University of Porto.
WAVEC annual marine energy seminar focusing on Norway

The Museum of the Orient, in Lisbon, receives on December 4, the Wavec Offshore Renewables Annual Seminar on the theme “Portugal and Norway: Marine Renewable Energy and Offshore Aquaculture”. Portugal and Norway are often regarded as pioneering countries in the development of marine renewable energy technologies.
ISCTE launches a degree in Data Science

The first Portuguese degree in data science has started at ISCTE. The new course was launched in an open session in September 17, which was attended by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor and the Rector of ISCTE, Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues.
